Slushy Virgin Cosmopolitan

Looking for a booze-less refresher to cool off with this summer? You’ve come to the right recipe! Whether you’re finding a family friendly drink, or just want to ditch the alcohol, this virgin cosmopolitan turned into slush is definitely a nice and refreshing treat to have in a martini glass.

Two martinis with virgin cosmopolitan drink and lime wedges. Bucket of ice and a shaker in the background.

Only 5 Ingredients:

  • Carbonated water (aka sparkling water)

You’ll want to find carbonated water with no added flavours or sweeteners. Because the recipe only makes 2 servings, I would only buy 1 bottle of carbonated water at a time.

  • Pure cranberry juice

Forget the “diet” or “low-calorie” cranberry juice. Get the original cranberry juice that’s jacked with vitamin C.

  • Fresh lime (juiced)

Adds a nice zesty and sour taste that spices up the drink.

  • Ice cubes

The drink wouldn’t be called “slushy” virgin cosmo without the “slush”! Though if you prefer to have an old fashioned cosmo without the slush, you can omit the ice cubes. You will also need to double the recipe to make 2 servings.

3 Easy Steps

  1. Lightly pulse all the ingredients in a blender. Don’t blend the drink on high, as it will cause the ice to completely melt, thus ruining the “slush” texture.
  2. Coat the rims of your martini glasses with sugar (optional). You’ll need squeeze some lime juice on the rims so that the sugar can stick when coated. To coat the rim, simply pour the sugar into a plate, flip the glass upside down and dip it into the plate of sugar.
  3. Pour the drink into the glass and serve with lime wedges!

I would say these virgin cosmos aren’t as strong as other virgin cocktails, since we’re adding ice and turning the drink into slush, but it you can definitely taste all the strong flavours coming together.
